Joint Municipal Waste Management
Strategy
In November 2006 the Gloucestershire
Waste Partnership published
its first draft Joint Municipal
Waste Management Strategy.
This strategy explains
how the seven County and
District Councils aim to
manage waste in Gloucestershire
up to 2020. The main objectives
are based upon a hierarchy
of preferred approaches,
focussing on waste reduction,
recycling and composting
more, and treating the
remaining waste in a sustainable
way. The strategy outlines
how this will be achieved
by working together in
partnership between ourselves
and with others.
This
strategy is now being considered
for adoption by each of
the partner authorities
in Gloucestershire. This
process will be complete
by the end of 2007. To
reach this stage, two rounds
of public consultation
have been undertaken. Click

public consultation which
was undertaken between
