To recycle even MORE than you already are, why not visit one of the Household Recycling Centres (HRCs) around the county - and don't forget to follow our top tip and sort your items before you arrive. It will save you time and allow you to recycle more.
What is a Household Recycling
Centre?
It’s
a place where you can take your
surplus household items for recycling
or disposal. The HRCs complement
the refuse and recycling collection
and recycling bank services provided
by your district or borough council.
There are 5 county council operated
HRCs in Gloucestershire. Here you
can recycle many different types
of waste including everyday items
like paper, cans, glass, plastic
bottles, batteries, cardboard,
electrical items and garden waste
to much bulkier items like fridges,
cookers, furniture and TVs. There
are also facilities for certain
hazardous materials.
In addition
there is a site at Swindon Road
Cheltenham, managed by Cheltenham
Borough Council, for householders
resident in Cheltenham Borough. For the materials you can recycle
at Swindon Road please click here.
HRCs are free to use - as long
as you are not disposing of business
or commercial waste - and are open
every day except Christmas Day
and New Years Day. Follow the links
on the left for details of the
Household Recycling Centre closest
to you. |
