Recycling Aluminium

This is probably the most carbon friendly materials that can be recycled. Perfluorocarbons released during primary aluminium production, although in small quantities, are thousands of times more potent than carbon dioxide. And amazingly, recyclng aluminium requires only 5% of the energy it takes to make NEW aluminium

If all the aluminium cans sold were recycled there would be 14 million fewer dustbins emptied into landfill sites every year. Alcan estimates that every household in the UK consumes around 200 aluminium drink cans every year. Each one of these can be recycled back into new drink cans over and over again.
