St John's SchoolGet involved this Recycle Week and Gloucestershire schools could win £1000 worth of garden centre vouchers!

Across the country schools have been asked to take part in Recycle Week (21st - 27th June) which this year focuses on waste electricals.

Three out of four people have broken, old or unwanted electrical items lying around doing nothing and we want our schools to help us make them useful again. Many of those seemingly useless items contain important plastics and metals which can be recycled and re-used to make new stuff. For example, just one toaster could provide enough steel to make 25 new cans.

Every time someone recycles a small electrical items at one of the six Household Recycling Centres in the county during Recycle Week they will receive a token which can then be registered online using the URL printed on the token.

To register your token online click here.

The schools with the most Rewards per pupil head in each region will win prizes of £500 worth of garden centre vouchers. The primary and secondary school with the most Rewards overall will win prizes of £1000 of garden centre vouchers. In Gloucestershire we are very grateful to May Gurney who are also sponsoring 6 District prizes of £50.
