Waste Statistics for Full Year 2010 - 2011
The full year’s results for 2010-2011 show the continued improvement in the county’s recycling performance. The overall recycling and composting rate has now reached 46%, up from 42% last year. It’s now hard to believe that in 2000 the countywide figure was just 13%.
Again this year the introduction of improved recycling collection services has made a significant contribution to the increased performance, with Gloucester City and Tewkesbury both introducing enhanced services. Gloucester City’s figure has increased from 33% to 46% and Tewkesbury Borough’s from 32% to 54%.
