How to safely dispose of asbestos
Important safety advice.
Do not try to remove asbestos yourself. It is dangerous and can cause serious illness.
Breathing in asbestos fibres can lead to fatal diseases. Always use a licensed contractor if you need asbestos removed.

How to dispose of asbestos at a household recycling centre.
Our recycling centres have limited facilities for disposing cement-bonded asbestos removed by householders.
We cannot accept asbestos removed by contractors. This is classed as commercial waste.
To use our service you need to:
- Order asbestos disposal bags and a permit.
- Wrap and seal the asbestos securely in the provided bags.
- Book your visit online for a car or book for a van, pick up or large trailer.
- Select Asbestos on page 4 of the booking form and add your permit number.
Only asbestos securely wrapped in our provided bags will be accepted. A limited number of bags are available per household.
