Where is it taken?

Metals is collected from the kerbside mixed with other recycling. It is taken to a materials recovery facility (MRF) in the UK where it is sorted into individual waste streams. It is then transported for recycling.

What happens to it?

Once separated out at the MRF the metals are sent for recycling to these locations:

Steel - Morris and Co and EMR, UK

Steel - Sims Group UK Limited, Nottingham, UK

Aluminium - Brittania Beverages, Thailand

End market

UK and Thailand.

End products

Recycled metal sheets ready to be turned into more cans and metal items.
